Yes, it’s no news to anyone that we have a plethora of pizza options in the city. There really is something for every mood. From traditional style Neopolitan, to huge slices, and quirky toppings. And now Detroit-style pizza from Failsworth favourites Corner Slice has arrived at Jimmy’s in Ancoats.
Detroit style pizzas are recognisable by their distinct square shape with a thick foccacia style base. Think chunky and fluffy, with a distinctive cheese crust – a delicious blend of soft and fluffy with cheesy crunch. And Corner Slice like to get really creative with it.
Yes, you can still get more traditional toppings like pepperoni and portobello mushroom and ricotta, but also expect a slew of vegan options, including Korean cauliflower with gojuchang, and their vegan version of a Philly Cheese Steak. Whilst meat eaters get to enjoy jerk pulled ham with pineapple salsa and Schwarma chicken.
I can confirm, the pizzas are absolutely delish.
Perhaps my favourite offer is their Pint & a Slice offer. Pint of your choice, slice of pizza, £8. Perfect for a quick bite, lunch in the sun, or for when you want to sample more than one.
Again, I can confirm, a delightful pairing.
You can grab your own in Ancoats now, with Liverpool following soon.
Pints and pizza? This looks like the start of a beautiful friendship.
