Think bottomless brunch, and you’re probably picturing a bar in the centre of Manchester, which means travel by bus, tram or train, before you can be knee deep in glasses of prosecco, and eggs benny.
But, for those of us in Stretford, we have a much much closer option. The Hive.
Yes, as of last weekend, instead of trekking into the city centre, you can now just walk over to Stretford Mall (I had to write that carefully, it’s still the Precinct in my head), and indulge in bottomless drinks and delicious brunch dishes.
And if you fancy it, I’d definitely book, because places are going fast.
So, how does it work? You get a glass of prosecco on arrival, and after that have a selection of drinks to choose from – beer, more fizz, or cocktails, including Bloody Marys, Pornstar and Espresso Martinis, and Mimosas, plus a selection of non alcoholic options too. As with all bottomless brunches, finish one before you get the next.

And food wise, there’s plenty to choose from, including vegan and gluten free options. Smashed avocado, summer berry or chocolate laden waffles, or meaty options including Grandad’s Sausages chipolatas with bacon, beans and hash browns, or chicken and waffles with maple syrup.
I went for eggs black stone – think eggs benny with tomatoes, whilst the husband went for the aforementioned chicken and waffles.

Between us, a selection of fried potato products – fries, sweet potato fries and triple cooked chips – my recommendation is to dunk these in the hollandaise.
The verdict? Great drinks, and delicious food for £25 each. And with the bonus of not falling half asleep on the half hour bus journey home.
I mean time it right, and you can visit the monthly market beforehand, and stock up on delicious things to enjoy after you head home, stay on for more, or pop to Soul Juice or the Foodhall to carry on the day as you started it, all the while supporting local.
