I wrote earlier this year about DBA Sports. I love their ethos, their support of female athletes and gym goers like me. Their slogans are supportive, not divisive and aren’t the extreme fitspo slogans that want to push you to go (extremely) hard or go home.
Now, brand founder Storm Trentham and her team have launched a new bra to benefit the research of cancer. The ‘INSPIRED BY CANCER’ bra is intended to raise funds and awareness to combat the disease.
Storm said ‘I wasn’t fully aware of the severity of the disease when I was growing up, which seemed strange given that a few of my family members died of the disease when I was growing up.’
In the last few years, however, the pure harshness of this killer disease has become more apparent to me. Driving home from seeing a great friend for the first time after her mastectomy, I knew that I had to somehow use DBA to do something for her and her family. With 1 in 3 of us reading this going to get the disease, and 78% of the population affected by it in some shape or form, there is not enough that we can do to help with research or for those affected.’
Given my current situation, and investigations into hereditary cancer genes, I’m with Storm all the way.
The bra features a host of inspirational words on the front and then the motivating slogan ‘BEAT IT’ across the back and 10% of profits from sales of the bra will go towards researching cancer.
If you fancy purchasing one of these bras, or any of the other pieces of clothing from the range, you can pop to their website here.
