With everything reopening it’s the perfect time to visit old favourites, or visit those places you keep meaning to, but never quite make it to.
Hard Rock Cafe at the Printworks is one of those places I haven’t been to for ages – even before everything closed. It’s not deliberately so, it’s just one of those places that’s part of the furniture, that it feels like it’ll always be there. Til it’s not, and we’re mid pandemic and everything is shut.
To celebrate their reopening inside and out, they’ve released a menu with summery festival vibes – and prices to match. Two menu items for £15, three for £20, and four for £25 means that you and your mates can grab some plates for a bargain price. Add in summery drinks for under a fiver, and cocktails for a smidge more and you won’t mind if the sunshine hides behind a cloud.
Even on our visit, though we were outside and the weather was a little…. questionable – we didn’t mind. We were out, out, wrapped in our coats and sipping Margaritas and a Dark N Stormy (or two) to keep warm.
The food helped too.

The Let’s Get Twisted Mac n Cheese Fries are huge! What’s not to love, bacon ontop of carbs on carbs, with a little buffalo sauce for spice. The mac isn’t too sauce heavy either, meaning your fries stay nice and crisp.

The Nacho Dog is a great twist on a classic hotdog. A proper beef frank, with creamy guacamole, fresh tomato salsa, and crunchy pink pickled onions.

Or take it up a notch with the lobster roll. I loved that this was full of lobster, easy on the dressing. Fresh, clean in flavour with the peppery hit of rocket in a gently sweet roll.

But our favourite was one of the veggie options. The BBQ Pineapple Quesadilla. Sweet charred pineapple, the crunch of coleslaw, oozy cheese and toasted tortilla. Absolutely delicious, and something I might have to have a go at recreating at home.
This offer runs til 1 June and is an absolute bargain. A perfect excuse for revisiting an old friend – especially now we can sit inside when the Manchester weather is… Well Mancunian.
