Well now. Doesn’t time fly?

One minute I was setting up on blogger, wondering what on earth I was doing, as writing was never really my thing, and the next thing here we are. 600+ posts in and celebrating the third birthday of the Gin Fuelled Bluestocking.

And it’s been incredible hasn’t it? I’ve done so much – ran a marathon or two, I’ve met celebs like Richard E Grant and Elle MacPherson, been ice skating and travelled to France, sampled cocktails, judged competitions, eaten so much bloody cake…. Even set up my own business.

But none of it, not a single sausage would have been tasted, not a canape, nor a sip of whisky would have passed my lips without you lot. You are the reason I keep writing. The reason I keep tweeting, and I want to show you just how grateful I am for your support (let alone that of Mr GFB and my friends and family).

So, to do that in style, I’ve a little number of giveaways to come your way. First off is probably the most crazy of them all, and of course it features my first love, gin.

I’ve got 5 – yes FIVE bottles of gin to give away, including some fantastic little craft distilled gins from the north west. Forest Gin from Macclesfield, who I helped launch at RedWillow in March, with its foraged botanicals, and the fabulous Batch Gin, made in Burnley, full of spice and floral flavours.

Then there’s Daffy’s Gin, not only beautiful bottle with a vintage image, but a fresh, citrussy, easy drinking gin, smooth enough to drink with ice and a slice. Delish.

I’ve also got a bottle of Berkeley Square, a personal favourite sipping gin, for you too. But that’s not all.

As well as the five bottles of gin, I’m going one further. You can have me.

Well, kind of. The winner can not only have the gin, but their own personal gin tasting of these bottles, with me and up to 5 friends. How does that sound?

Being sensible, travel could be an issue – so I’m sorry, this will be down to where I can get to, will most certainly involve land travel only, and diary dates will be down to negotiation. The winner is, of course, more than welcome to choose to hold it in Manchester, but I have no problem in travelling to Leeds, or Liverpool, even as far as Newcastle. I’ll try to be as flexible as possible.

The tasting isn’t obligatory and if you’d much rather just have the gin, that’s not a problem, we can work that out too.
