Guest Post: Jolie July – A Bit of Rough

Today I want to share with you my latest beauty find, the absolutely fantastic Japanese style exfoliating washcloth – A Bit of Rough.

It’s not every day that a washcloth blows your stockings off, but A Bit of Rough has done just that.

Now I know how important it is to exfoliate the body (especially for ladies who de-fuzz) but how many of you out there can hold your hands up and admit to religiously body-brushing, or salt- scrubbing, or rough-side of the sponging from head to toe every other day? Unless you have an uber-gorgeous smelling exfoliator that isn’t just for show then it all becomes a bit of a chore. A Bit of Rough (£12.00) is a game changer as it is such a pleasure to use as it transforms even the cheapest crappest shower gel into a super-lathery exfoliating virtuoso.

A Bit of Rough is basically just a long bit of cloth that unwinds like a bandage. You can fold it neatly or just screw it in a big ball, add a small amount of your favourite shower gel and lather it up! The texture is rough, of course, but not too rough so you have to be gentle with it as I find with a rough sponge. Because the cloth is so long you can toss it over your shoulders and rub-a-dub dub your very own back without having to ask somebody to help out.

The just-exfoliated clean feeling you get from the cloth is so satisfying and for a pregnant woman who struggles to reach certain areas of her own body, this piece of shower kit is life-changing. I really am extremely impressed with A Bit of Rough; I can’t imagine showering without it now and I would even go so far as to say it is now a beauty Holy Grail product of mine.
