It’s started.
The emails have started heading into our inboxes, screaming 50% off, half price, and give it another 24 hours, a few days, a week, and they’ll be pouring through, like they do every year.
Sales.
At the point of the year where you’re lucky if you’re going to make it through Christmas without making your credit card scream for mercy, in comes more temptation. That dress you denied yourself because it was just a little too much, will now be at a price that tempts you. Those shoes that teased you with their shiny newness, are now even shinier now that the price has been halved.
For me, it was a handbag.
I had a beautiful big blue handbag that I loved. But there was…. an incident. It involved a bus moving too fast for a fellow passenger, his stumble meeting my travel cup full of bulletproof coffee and… My handbag.
It was disastrous.
I salvaged the contents of my bag, lost a notepad due to the soaking, but the bag? The bag was terminally soiled. I bought an emergency bag from Primark, but the next challenge was finding a new one. And knowing just how fussy I am, this wasn’t going to be easy. I don’t want to spend a fortune, but I want a ‘good’ bag, something that will cope with my laptop, but not look too bulky or frumpy. And I’m picky.
Normally this sort of search takes me hours. Days even. Weeks if I’m unlucky. Online trawls of website after website.
In stepped Love the Sales.
A website that promises to make things easy by bringing all the sales together into one place. Search for brand, or item, narrow it down by type, colour or size, and off you go.
I found a spare hour and started the trawl for a new handbag.
Using it is easy. The links on the page go directly to the website that has the item for sale, so purchasing is pretty straightforward. And because it’s doing the legwork for you, you can save effort on finding what you want. Which was how I found this lovely navy bag from LYDC London – a site I’d not come across before, and probably wouldn’t have done without Love the Sales.
And the bag I found was exactly what I wanted. A good tough bag, sturdy, but pretty, lots of detailing that I love, and most importantly it fits my laptop comfortably, along with my notepad, diary, and all the other bits and pieces I need to carry around with me.
And all for under £50.
Bargain.
And that’s the whole point of a sale. Isn’t it?
