Before I begin writing this post, can I just state that writing about such gloriously naughty food while on a strict diet trial is somewhat hellish? I’m just hitting 1200 calories a day and as it’s a carbohydrate cycling diet, I’m consuming nothing starchy until day 4 – known to you and I as Thursday.
So when I have to present you with a picture of this:
My mouth waters and my tummy growls. It’s so damned pretty.
And let me tell you, if you’re going to break your diet for anything, please make it one of these little beauties. The Whoa-Nut.
Part soft waffle, part crispy deepfried doughnut, this sexy little thing is on offer from Splendid Sausage in limited quantities and comes in a range of flavours. I have to admit, this one was my second sampling, the first occurring as part of Sausage Club, where Cheryl and I were presented with a sample of an Oreo cookie version.
And yes, that too was as good as it’s sibling, the white chocolate and raspberry confection above. Let’s take another look, shall we?

They’ve also created a lemon meringue version and given my susceptibility to citrus flavours, I’m just waiting for that tweet, or Facebook update that says they’re ready for me to run down to snaffle one.
Maybe have it like I did this one, with a wine from their brand spanking new wine list.
I’m thrilled to say as well, that I don’t know (and I’ve had conversations with a few people online) of anywhere else doing them. At least for now anyway…
But, just in case sweet things aren’t your style, you can always sample some of their house made popcorn – this one an incredible blend of oregano and spice, creating pizza flavoured popcorn.
Yes. You read that right. Pizza flavoured.
Also excellent with a glass of wine. Or two.

49 of these sausages are silver and their tag will tell the lucky so and so what their prize is. However, one of these sausages is golden and will entitle the winner to free dogs at Splendid Sausage for a whole year!

My Whoa-Nut on this occasion was provided for free. This doesn’t affect their taste which is downright dirty and I will be going in again soon to buy one. Once this stupid diet is done. Or on a cheat day. Whichever comes first.
