Christmas is getting closer, and we’re on the last few weeks before I take my usual Christmas break. This one is short and sweet, but I do have a bit of an announcement of my own.
Next year will be my tenth year of blogging. As such, it’s time for a change. No, I’m not going anywhere, but this site is. As of next year, I’ll be completely rebranding myself as the Pickled Ginger! Watch this space for announcements and links, and don’t worry, you’ll still be able to head here, to be redirected to the new site.

Those lovely lads from Salford Rum have launched Bar Rumbug – a pop up bar for Christmas! On the same site as their new bar will be, this is a temporary rum laden bar full of festive spirits at Arch 33 on Viaduct Street in Salford. It’s open throughout this month, from 12pm – 12am, Wednesdays to Sundays.
Proof in Chorlton have launched their festive menu – both food and drinks. So whether you’re dining out, or ordering for take away, Proof have got the drinks for you and they’ve collaborated with Beehive Foods to provide small plates and larger dishes, including a full brunch menu! Get this one into your diaries – Manchester Rum Festival is back next year! Taking place on Saturday June 18th 2022, this is the fifth year of rum fun and again it will be held at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly. 2022 will include the debut of the world’s biggest-selling rum in Tanduay and local newcomers Tameside Distillers, plus the return of rum favourite El Dorado.
