Sequins, fake lashes, corsetry, big hair and satin gloves.
No, not me on a Saturday night (well, not every Saturday anyway), this is Meow Meow. Songstress, glamour puss and comedienne.
Meow Meow takes cabaret by the short and curlies and drags it into this decade, in her own style. She’s ballsy and if you’re watching, be prepared get involved. You might want to give the below a little watch to see what I mean….
And this is but a hint at her exploits on stage. She’s worked with Amanda Palmer and toured with Barrie Humphries. She’s performed everything from Schubert to punk.
Imagine the love child of Lisa Minelli, Lesley Garrett and a drag artist and you’re probably close. Thought that doesn’t even hint at the brains behind the performances.
Intrigued? You should be.
Meow Meow is making her Wonderground debut in London for 3 weeks only, following shows in the West End and critically acclaimed season at Southbank Centre.
There’ll be crowd-surfing, sequins, politics and satire and possibly even the splits.
And I’ve been given the opportunity to give away a pair of tickets to see Meow Meow live on stage to one lucky reader.
So without further ado *clears throat*
