I don’t have much of a sweet tooth – when it comes to dessert I’m more likely to hit the cheeseboard – when it comes to cocktails, a Martini, but when that sweet craving hits… I’ve got to have something and I’ve got to have it now.
And along with cakes and macaroons, it seems marshmallows have grown up. Forget about Flumps, Pink ‘n’ Whites and the Fluff you used to spread on your toast. I’m talking gourmet marshmallows, like the ones from Fluffy Puff Puffs.
These are sweeties for adults, gorgeous little morsels of sugary fun.
Choosing which ones to have is hard task. With flavours such as Strawberry and Pimms, Raspberry and White Chocolate and Orange Swirl, you’re a little spoilt for choice. Putting in my own order was a long process (next time I may just order the mixed batch).
However, choose I did. The first ones out of their packet were the sugar and spice – cinnamon and sugar coat the marshmallow
Then the Marshmallow equivalent of Chorlton Crack – Salted Caramel Swirl. Oh yes. Sticky marshmallow, filled with salty, creamy stripes of caramel.
The Key Lime Pie are something special. with a crumbly biscuity base and a sweet yet sharp lime and ginger marshmallow, these are absolutely gorgeous. So good, they didn’t last long enough for me to take a picture. So I’ve, ahem. acquired one from their site…
And then, there were the Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate Drizzle. To be honest, I didn’t expect the peanut butter to come through as well as it did, but it does and alongside the dark chocolate, they are so very good, I’m not going to share.
Just writing this means I’ve now got a sweet craving I’m not going to be able to shift, so I’m off to the website to buy some more.
I’m just not being held responsible if there aren’t any left…
